What you should know

Paying companies get both a badge and a link; the word “paid” does not appear next to the badge in the list, but it is explained on a subpage (20 Feb 2024).

According to the membership terms (version Sep 2024, § 5.1), only companies without negative parameters in the Strømligning Score can be certified; the current version of the terms does not mention the score. The site denies that commission affects the order, but takes no position on whether membership does.

How does the site make money?

Paid “certification”/membership sold to electricity retailers (annual fee, amount not public) + API agreements. No commission per switch. All companies are shown free of charge.

Does a retailer have to pay to be listed?

No: all are shown and ranked (53 of the 54 elpris.dk companies found in the site’s data feed on 2 Nov 2026; only Ørsted Erhverv is missing). But only paying (“Certified”) companies get a “go to” link and a green badge; non-paying companies get a grey shield and no link.

The site shows Osmund. This earns no points.

What does the site say itself?

“Uvildig sammenligning af alle danske elselskaber” (“Unbiased comparison of all Danish electricity companies”)

What we saw

Ranking: Default = “Pris & Score” (“Price & Score”): the site’s own, published Strømligning Score 0–5 combined with price; sorting purely by price can be selected. Osmund Åben was no. 1 at 4,000 kWh on 2 Nov 2026, without a link, because Osmund does not pay.

Price basis: Only the supplier’s part (spot markup, subscription, fees). Spot, duties and grid tariffs are deliberately left out “as they are the same regardless of company”. Clearly explained.

Updates: “Last updated 1 November 2026” on the front page; data “is checked against actual electricity bills”.

Method on the site: Its own articles: “How we calculate prices”, “Strømligning Score”, “Certified by Strømligning”.

Error reporting: Encourages users to submit electricity bills; “Electricity bills wanted” is shown on unverified products.
